I think all designers should regularly attend all these kinds of exhibitions! Why should we attend? Well there are multiple reasons; it’s a great place for inspirations, to check new trends, new furniture and lighting products, making new contacts with sellers, meet other designers and share experiences, attend seminars and many events, pick up new samples and brochures.. the list is endless.. If you are a great designer or planning in to become one.. you simply can’t missed Clerkenwell design Week!
I went for my first exhibition in Birmingham, ”Interiors UK” where I met Kelly Hoppen on one of her seminars. For the first time I saw so many products in one place. We only went for 1 day but it was pretty impossible to see all of it in one day! Clerkenwell Design Week is slightly different to Interiors UK. At CDW you will get into something like a village of small creative and inspiring showrooms. I’ve actually never been there that’s why I am doubly excited! I will be able to explain all when I am back! Also another thing that makes me Suuper excited is 2 facts:
1 – That we are staying overnight where we can attend the exhibitions and seminars in the evening and we also have the next day to explore! We won’t miss anything!
2 – The thing that makes me dance around my room and if I could I would just scream- is the hotel where we staying! It is perfect..just amazing! The hotel is called Qbic and is located in E1 area of London. The company also have one in Amsterdam. The name Qbic comes from cube shaped bed joined with shower room in the back. The rooms and the hotel looks so quirky and unique! I am already charging my camera!.. but we often find places where image for the purpose of advertising is amazing but the reality can shock.. I am really wondering how different the hotel will be? First, what I thought is maybe the location is dodgy.. but actually the hotel is located near Brick Lane, famous place for designers too. I am so curious! Let’s have a look at the images of the hotel and CDW. When I come back we will compare right?
First some images of CDW from previous years…
