The wait is over and the big reveal is on…but before I go
there… Spring Trends for 2015 are flying on design blogs and magazines. Yes, I
did mention the exotics and pink flamingos here. Some people follow current
trends like a mantra. Bloggers rushing to get the latest metallics, grey & yellow,
palm trees or flowery patterns because everything shouts, it’s Spring 2015! Do
we have to follow this to get stylish bedroom? Of course not! You can do
whatever you want. Read this blog and you will see that mixing and matching
styles and trends is not wacky. It’s actually quite innovative and original
than following like sheep with no personal taste or touch! It’s your home, and
you can do whatever you want! I know this amazing Scandinavian bedroom on Instagram
looks sooo amaaazzing but do you really see yourself living in this perfect magazine
like home? Where is ‘’You’’ in Your home?
I loved them….on Instagram, but at home I want to see myself. I want to feel my
space. I want home. I have done a little
project for myself. I have re-decorated my bedroom. I felt like previous style
(read here) was little too romantic and it didn’t suit my age at all. I have
gathered few ideas and decided to do the changes. I didn’t follow any trend
apart from urban jungle trend with more greenish home but this is a must these
days. I have mentioned before, I live in a rented space where I can’t do much, as
most of the furniture belongs to my less stylish landlord! I had to pimp them
up! I
have started with buying air plants and creating a wall planters décor, changing
the picture frame for my lovely Cow and removing the ugliest vertical blinds
ever. I have revealed the changes in my Part 1 (read here). Now is time for
Part 2. I just simply couldn’t fit everything in one post. Below image of the space before and after. You can clearly see how it nicely changed!
major change in my room and guess what.. the cheapest part of my budget
design style! I couldn’t physically repaint them or add handles etc. so I have come
up with super easy solution. Vinyl sticker! I put it on 2 x chest of drawers
and headboard. You probably should know by now, how obsessed I am with geometry so this design couldn’t be more different! I have paid
£6 for a 5 meter long vinyl sticker in Ebay. Bellow short tutorial.
craft knife, ruler, pencil, soft fabric or plastic card to flatten the air
bubbles).
Measure the furniture and divide by 3 (if you
want similar design) but check the angles as this is where it can go wrong (I
did it!) Well, we did it. My friend Marcin was helping me out as I had my arms still
in cast then. I blame him. 😀
Mark on furniture where you want the design go
on. Very important part.
Cut out the desired shape and start with peeling
off a corner.
Very carefully attached it and slowly work your
way down and keep smoothing the air bubbles.
Allow more vinyl on the corner so the edges won’t
be visible.
Taadaaam! Easy huh?
headboard so I was left with quite a lot of that roll! I love how the woods
complement the white matt vinyl! It automatically brightened up my bedroom and
added so much interest to it! Especially the geometrical pattern is just fab!
Once I had a bit of left of the vinyl I have used it on my mirror. I wasn’t particularly
pleased with it so let’s call it a temporary change. People make mistakes ha 😉
bit of art. Well let’s say I tried to do a bit of art and failed miserably. I
am pretty crap Picasso I must say! 😉 So, again this will be changed but if for any reason you
like the art below; How I did it!
bedroom without a bed or mattress at least, but bed need a pretty cover.
End of story. This is the place where we charging our battery and getting
amazing dreams in our pretty heads…btw. Who doesn’t love snuggle into bed and
spend there an entire day in comfy Onsie with a cup of hot chocolate huh?? (or
wine in Saturday evening)?..and the smell of fresh sheets , the feel of crisp
fabric… and the fabulous wake up moment next day! I just love it! Bed covers, especially
stylish designer pieces can be pricey! I like to explore different fabrics and
patterns so I headed to Yorkshire Linen Co. and picked one of the cutest bed
cover ever! Hounds Red*! Don’t you love the pattern? Budget designs of course, but
cheap doesn’t mean bad quality in this matter. The £16.99 bed cover is rich in
cotton and very soft, and it’s a proper designer piece by Catherine Lansfield.
Pretty affordable luxury isn’t? Usually, if I buy cheap bed sheets they smell
of cheap Chinese plastic, but here was a different story. I was honestly surprised! Get yourself
a matching blanket & cushion too! Even spring can be cosy now! Check out
what else has Yorkshire Linen to offer!
This is not all about this lovely company! They have offered
my lovely readers a fab competition! Win £30 to spend at Yorkshire Linen!

budget ideas for your rented space!I will have also a lovely video to go with the 2 posts! It will go live on weekend!
