Hey ho! Christmas is round the corner, who is excited?! Of course me! I have decided to make you quick DIY advent calendar you can make at home. I have seen many methods and some are more difficult and some easier! This DIY advent calendar is something I always need at home. I can live without a wreath or outdoor decor but not without advent calendar. I count days but also, I like to treat myself every day with some small treats, just a family tradition, you know. Today, I am back with another #swifthomehack with SwiftCover! As you can see, all my hacks are super easy and budget friendly, so I hope you will enjoy this one as well!
Here, is the super easy DIY advent calendar tutorial!
Materials. You will need different types of fabric and lace strips. You can buy ready ones (1,5m should be enough) Then also get some twine and string to hang you pouches. If you great at hand sewing or machine is fab, but of not- you can just use fabric glue like me. To make your tree branch you will need chosen spray paint or several colours and of course tree branch.
Tree branch. I went for a nice walk to a park and pick up some tree branch. I looked for a medium sized one with some dried leaves on. I wanted to make a shimmery and multicoloured one. I went outside to spray it as it wold is a way to harmful to use so many sprays indoor! Just please bear that in mind when doing any DIY that involves paints, as this can be toxic.
Pouches. Once my branch was dried, I began to create my pouches. My sewing machine broke, so instead of using hands, I decided to test out a fabric glue. I have cut out my shapes and folded the edges applying glue.
Lace detail. Once all the edges were glued together I have added my lace at the top. I have chosen different lace types to add a little edge to it. Just make sure you twist the end of lace inside so you don’t have bits hanging out.
Stenciling. I found my old stencil template and used permanent marker this time. you can use just metallic paint if you have at home, but I wanted to try this method and it completely worked!
Last, was to add string but again by glueing it inside and just hang on the tree! How easy was that??
I am back next week with another amazing #swifthomehacks!
