Are you a bit bored of how your bedroom looks? If you’ve got the time and money, you can easily change it. But what if you don’t have the resources to do it? Well, you can still give your bedroom a restyle with some of these easy ideas.
Redecorate one wall
Redecorating all of your bedroom walls can be both time consuming and expensive. So, if the cost of painting a room is too high, why not do a quick makeover on just one wall? Accent or feature walls are a great way to add colour, style and give the room a boost. Alternatively, if you have light-coloured walls that you’re happy with, why not paint the ceiling in a dramatic, dark shade instead?
Move your furniture around
Giving your bedroom a fresh new layout, can be a great way to kickstart a restyle. But you can also pinch bits and pieces that you love from other rooms too. Swap around side tables, rugs, pictures and cushions. Anything you fancy really. This simple change could give you just the restyle you’d like, and it won’t cost you a penny!
Create a new wall display
Bedrooms are a great place to try out new wall displays. Gallery walls are a popular addition in any part of the house, but you could go one step further with your bedroom décor. If you’ve got a collection of cool hats, then you could make a pretty wall display by hanging them up instead of pictures. Or find some pretty coat hooks to display your handbag collection. Got loads of shoes? Find some floating cube shelves and turn them into a feature.
Add some softer touches
A few extra accessories to soften a bedroom and make it feel more comfortable, is another excellent way to restyle. Adding real or faux plants, extra throws and soften bed linen for example. Place large plants in the corners of the room, drape throws over the end of the bed and layer your covers.
Change your lighting
A change to the tone of your room doesn’t always require a redecoration. You could simply change your lighting. The easiest and most affordable change you can make, is to your lightbulbs. If your lights are bright and a bit harsh, switch to warmer, softer tone lightbulbs. And if you can add a few extra side lamps to your room, this could create a much cosier feel.
