A Spring Refresh Q&A with Anna Lysik
Wayfair: What expert tips do you have when it comes to keeping your home organised and clutter free?
Anna: First of all, a good clear out and declutter every 6months months! It takes approximately 3 days to go through everything, but you can do it room by room. It is then to easier keep on top of all. Also, small boxes, baskets, and re-use of takeaway boxes can be a great way to keep things separate.
Wayfair: Are there any spruce ups or small refreshes you like to do as we transition from winter into a new spring season?
Anna: Furniture upcycling! Rather than splash loads of money on seasonal trendy furniture, I love upcycling my old furniture. Going extra light brighten colours, or just fresh lick of paint etc. Also, I keep an eye on sales, markets, and small stores to get the furniture to upcycle.
Wayfair: When you think about a bedroom refresh, what materials, colours or accents do you like to incorporate and why?
Anna: I have seasonal fabrics tucked away under my bed including bed linens, cushion covers, blankets, etc. For spring, I always pick the flower patterns, cotton, bright and airy fabrics, and tuck away heavy linens, flannels, or fur which is saved for winter. This way I only change the covers and don’t need to buy new cushions every season.
Wayfair: When it comes to bedding, how can people use theirs to spruce up their bedroom while on a budget?
Anna: Mixing flowery patterns with soft cotton, will give a fresh vibe to a countryside hotel. I would reduce the layers of blankets as it may look too heavy and only keep one with loads of flowery cushions. Also, only buy cushion covers and invest a good quality bedding that will last. As you only change covers then which will save a loads of money.
Anna’s Wayfair Picks for the Spring Season
I love flowery patterns in moderation, I often would peak geometrical pattern mixed with flowers so it gives that modern twist to it.
One of my favorite bedding is this Fat Face bedding because it has both of the geometrical and pattern sides. Winner! Also add some cute basket as storage and an accent wicker chair as this always adds spring vibes.
Adding this geometrical cushion by Andrew Lee and blush throw by Norden Home would create a perfect combo.
Anna’s Spring Spruce Up Highlight
One of my highlights would be last year’s spring decor when I renovated my bedroom and living room and added flowers and holiday vibes to it for spring. Adding fresh flowers in a vase, repainting the fireplace, and adding more plants- has already brightened the space. I have also replaced the rug, curtain, and cushions which I feel made the most changes here. Here are just a few images to show how nice and bright it looked.
Our bedroom is being changed seasonally with bedding, throws, and cushions. I also like to have a box of decor that I keep for winter and for Spring. like to add accessories, like summer bag or fresh flowers to keep the new season vibes.

Anna’s Advice on Selecting Items to Spruce Up the Home:
Anna: Make sure you also work with the layout of your room, long stripes in the bedroom area would only make this corner look more narrow hence I selected flower patterns and oversized artwork. I always like to pick items, that are refreshing and bright as they always brighten the house more and make it look more inviting. Measure your room when picking furniture or accessories, as this cute lamp may not fit on your side table and etc.
5 Ways Bring a Little Calm into Your Bedroom
1. Essentials oils on the side table, spray or put few drops before bed.
2. Opt for a nice ambiance light before sleep rather than the main light, a cute lamp will also look nice in the bedroom.
3. Take a bubble bath over shower, as it will make you feel ready to sleep
4. Real plants especially in bedrooms like aloe vera will purify the air but also, make the room look calmer.
5. Artwork is very important, leave the abstracts to living room and in the bedroom surround yourself with softer colours.
